New Year's Day in Whippendell Woods
Sixteen members and guests gathered promptly in the Whippendell Wood car park at 10:15 eager to walk off the festivities of New Year's Eve. The sky was blue, and the sun shone in a freezing cold temperature so we were quickly rounded up for the off by leaders Pat and Ray.

We walked along the canal path passing The Grove to Grove Mill Weir. Before reaching Red Heath we celebrated the first walk of the year with mulled wine and mince pies.
Onwards and upwards towards Harrocks Wood and finally back to Whippendell Wood.
An absolute gem of a 14km circular walk taking just 4 hours. A very enjoyable day was had by all. Ginny
