June Evening Walk: Park Street

A select group of just 6 set off for the evening walk on the longest day of the year. We had a lovely warmish summer evening as befitting the time of year.
The first part of the walk from Park Street was along the River Ver through some parkland land and lakes at Frogmore. The walk went past a mobile home estate where some of the homes had delightful gardens backing onto the river – a real hidden away 'backwater'.
Having crossed the M25, which was as noisy as ever, we wandered through countryside picking up and leaving the River Ver as we continued down past Moor Mill at Colney Street.
Heading back, the River Ver ran into the River Colne and it was the banks of the latter that we followed for a while. We skirted the HSBC Training Centre, a lovely house (with modern building) in delightful grounds and with great views back across the Ver Valley.
Then it was back across the M25 (still noisy) and back through the parkland at Frogmore. This time we took the path along the top of a small hill and came a cross a note that there had been roman ruins there, but nothing left now.  Finally back to the cars and drink at the local pub.
