November Day Walk: The Oxfordshire Chilterns
On arrival at Cowleaze Wood car park there were patches of blue sky and sun was beginning to burn off the autumn mist, which certainly looked promising after the awful weather we had recently experienced. Unfortunately, however, it was short-lived and soon clouded over, but at least it remained dry for most of the walk, which took us down the Oxford Escarpment to the Pyrton Driftway, then back up again into Shotridge Wood where we observed the two-minute silence under beautiful beech trees still hanging on to the last of their autumn leaves.

Lunch was rather curtailed by the onset of rain but despite this and the inevitable mud still an enjoyable walk. Meg
